Terms of Use
These terms of use govern your access to and use of mybursary.org and the myBursary platform (together, “myBursary”, “the platform” or “the website”), operated by Senha Ltd trading as myBursary (“we”, “our” or “us”), a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16718889).
By accessing or using myBursary, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform. If you are using the platform on behalf of an institution, you confirm that you have authority to bind that institution and that it has agreed to these terms (and, where applicable, to the School Agreement).
These terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal data.
About these terms
These terms apply to all users of myBursary, including students accessing the platform to submit bursary applications, staff and administrators at institutions using the platform to manage those applications, and visitors browsing the public website at mybursary.org.
Where an institution has entered into a separate School Agreement with us, that agreement takes precedence over these terms to the extent of any inconsistency.
Who may use myBursary
The platform is intended for use by:
- Students aged 16 and over who are enrolled at an institution that uses myBursary
- Staff and administrators at institutions that have agreed to the School Agreement
- Visitors browsing the public website
You must not use the platform if you are under 16. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 16 to create an account or submit personal data without the involvement of their institution. If you believe a person under 16 has accessed the platform independently, please contact us.
Access to the platform is granted by institutions, which control which students and staff can register and log in via their institution’s subdomain. We do not accept self-registration from the public domain (mybursary.org).
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. Do not share your password with anyone else. Staff and administrator accounts require multi-factor authentication (MFA); you must keep your MFA device or recovery codes secure.
You must tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation. We are not liable for any loss or damage that results from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
You must provide accurate information when registering for or using an account. You must not impersonate another person or create an account for someone else without their knowledge.
Acceptable use
When using myBursary, you must not:
- Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information as part of a bursary application or otherwise
- Access, or attempt to access, data belonging to another student or institution
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform, including by introducing malicious code or attempting to overwhelm our systems
- Attempt to circumvent any security measure or access control
- Use automated tools to access or scrape the platform
- Use the platform for any purpose other than its intended use as a bursary management tool
- Do anything unlawful, or anything that infringes the rights of any other person
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who breaches these terms, or whose use we reasonably believe is harmful to the platform, other users or third parties.
Our content and intellectual property
The myBursary platform, including its design, code, text, graphics and all other content created by us, is owned by Senha Ltd or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our prior written consent, except to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. You retain ownership of any data or content you submit through the platform (such as application information and evidence documents).
You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display the content you submit to the extent necessary to operate the platform and provide the service to you and your institution.
Platform availability
We aim to keep myBursary available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may take the platform offline for maintenance or updates, and we will endeavour to give advance notice where we are able to.
We are not liable for any loss caused by the platform being unavailable, whether temporarily or permanently, except where that liability cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Links to third-party sites
The platform may contain links to third-party websites. Those websites are not operated by us and we are not responsible for their content or practices. Linking to a third-party site does not indicate that we endorse it. You should review the terms and privacy policy of any site you visit.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to the above, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special loss, including loss of data, loss of income or profit, or damage to reputation, arising out of your use of or inability to use the platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss.
Our total liability to you in connection with these terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the greater of £100 and the amount you have paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as the platform evolves. Where we make material changes, we will publish the updated terms on this page and notify you where we are reasonably able to do so. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
